This happens for both posts (like someone tagging you because you met up for a coffee) and photos. (Jumbo calls it "archiving", because it saves the tweets to your phone, but they're removed from Twitter. In the drop-down menu click Who can see my stuff You can choose from a range of options for those who can view your pictures, including Friends, Close. By default, anyone can tag you in a post and it’s added to your Facebook Timeline, right on your profile alongside the updates that you’ve authored yourself. You can remove tweets older than a day, a week, a month, or three months.

Here's how you need to update your privacy settings before you or Facebook publishes your Timeline. Connect it up to your Twitter account, and then choose Set up under the archive option. Facebook's new Timeline has the potential to expose status updates and wall posts from years ago. You've got more choices here in terms of third-party tools than you do with Facebook, and again the freemium Jumbo for Android and iOS will do the job. If you're using the official app for Android or iOS, the process is pretty much the same: Open up your profile, tap the downward arrow next to a tweet, and choose Delete Tweet (the other option on this menu sets the post as the pinned tweet on your profile, which is almost the opposite of removing it). You do get a confirmation dialog, but there's no way to restore tweets once they're gone.
